DASURECO successfully completed its Sinag ng Pag-asa Painting Contest in celebration of the 14th National Electrification Awareness Month (NEAM) at the DASURECO Atrium, Barangay Cogon, Digos City, Davao del Sur.
Recognized as Sinag ng Pag-asa Champion were Bryan Dave C. Aniñon (Davao del Sur) and Shaikah Samantha G. Lara (Davao Occidental). A tribute to Aniñon’s exceptional originality, his work not only captured the judges’ hearts but also the prestigious Board of Directors Choice Award.
With an equally amazing piece, Venice Maia D. Paraiso (Davao del Sur) and Halley Flynn C. Erum (Davao Occidental) won the second prize. Taking the third spot was April Jay B. Abing (Davao del Sur) who also won the Board of Directors Choice Award for a noteworthy accomplishment, and Amira Clarish Fernandez took third, closing off Davao Occidental’s winning performance in the competition.
In addition to the main awards, special awards were given to individuals whose artwork truly stood out. Receiving the GM’s Choice Award were Chrysel Angela Moreno, Serenity Belle Ramos, and Marc Louie Sabidor, while Ma. Theresa C. Bautista was honored with the Project Supervisor’s Choice Award. Notably, Marc Louie Sabidor also earned a special award from Board President Al Catillon, captivating his heart in terms of artistic vision.
The Chairman of the Board of Judges, Mr. Evanie Gibbs G. Reyno, along with Atty.Xerxes D. Adzuara, the NEA Department Manager for Management and Consultancy Services Office, and local artist Reyjun Gulle, presided over the painting contest during this event. Their involvement contributed to the success of the event and showcased their dedication and support for young artists in the community.
The on-the-spot painting contest highlighted the artistic abilities of young artists in Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental while showcasing the community’s cooperative attitude and creative energy. This event served as a powerful illustration of DASURECO’s dedication to supporting local artists and generating a sense of community pride.
