DASURECO continuously provides an indication of hope in a culture that is frequently divided by groups based on race, religion, and interest. Over the years, it has demonstrated the strength of cooperation in the face of problems and challenges that transcend boundaries and backgrounds through the Task Force Kapatid.
On September 4, 2023, DASURECO showed its power of unity together with other electric cooperatives from Regions XI and XII, and the Agusan del Sur Electric Cooperative (ASELCO) by providing P5 Million Pesos as an interest-free loan to Maguindanao Electric Cooperative (MAGELCO) for the uprating of its 5 MVA power transformer to 10 MVA situated at Barangay Capiton, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
The total loan amount of P18 Million Pesos would help one of the conflict-affected EC like MAGELCO, in addressing power reliability and minimizing its system loss.
The turnover and signing ceremony was made meaningful with messages from Maguindanao del Sur Governor Hon. Bai Mariam Sangki Mangudadatu, NEA Deputy Administrator for EC Management Service Atty. Omar M. Mayo, and a virtual message of NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda.
A keynote message was also given by the TESDA Director General Sec. Suharto T. Mangudadatu, Ph.D. Moreover, MAGELCO Acting General Manager Suraina M. Kalid delivered her acceptance message before the distinguished guests and EC employees.
What truly sets this endeavor is the genuine support of the electric cooperatives through Task Force Kapatid that strengthen the capabilities of every EC. This deed of generosity exemplifies the spirit of electric cooperatives which seek to build a sense of community above and beyond business margins.
The tale of this collaborative endeavor serves as a reminder that, despite religious or cultural divides, humanity’s fundamental ideals may prevail. That in these trying times, a story of EC’s solidarity will serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration
