The government-mandated Lifeline Rate Program is set to be implemented on January 2024 under the third Tripartite Advisory of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) together with the Department of Energy (DOE) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) dated September 1, 2023.
With such extension, DASURECO calls on its qualified marginalized end-users (QMEs) consuming 30kWh and below to apply of the government’s program before the end of December 2023 in order to continuously benefit a discount in their electricity bill up to 60%. Unlike private distribution utilities, DASURECO’s level of consumption threshold is 30kWh and below with an approved percentage discount from 5% to 60%, depending on its monthly electricity consumption.
Among the qualified marginalized end-users who may benefit from the program are the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development and Non-4Ps consumers considered to be living below the poverty threshold set by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and certified by the Local Social Welfare Development Office (LSWDO).
DASURECO maximized its efforts to encourage QMEs to avail of the program by conducting series of information drive in the barangay level in coordination with the LGUs, DSWD, and the Local SWDO. In addition to accepting applications in all its offices, DASURECO initiated On-site Lifeline Acceptance in partnership with the DSWD during its barangay-level Family Development Sessions.
As of September 29th, DASURECO received a total of 478 applications from 85 barangays since the roll out of its information drive in June 2023.###
