Davao Del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DASURECO) is committed to protect the privacy rights of individuals on personal data pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations.
All employees are enjoined to comply with and to share in the responsibility to secure and protect personal data collected and processed by the cooperative in pursuit of legitimate purposes.
To ensure that your rights as a Data Subject under Republic Act No. 10173 otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012 are secured, that DASURECO has implemented reasonable and appropriate organizational, physical and technical measures intended to protect your personal information and/or sensitive personal information against any unauthorized, accidental and/or unlawful processing under the following terms and conditions:
Collection of Your Personal Information
DASURECO asks you to provide personal information, such as your name, billing address, home, work or other telephone numbers, email-address and Identification Numbers.
Use of Your Personal Information
DASURECO collects and uses your personal information to maintain accurate member/account information and participation in specific programs. We also use your personal information to communicate with you. We may send service communications such as billing statement and reminders, notice of disconnections, monthly newsletters and other promotional information. Personal information collected by Davao Del Sur Electric Cooperative is stored and processed in Davao Del Sur Electric Cooperative Main headquarters and area offices.
Sharing of Your Personal Information
DASURECO will not share your personal information with any non-affiliated entity or third-party vendor for their independent marketing or commercial purposes. Davao Del Sur Electric Cooperative employees are permitted to obtain only the personal information they need to deliver service to you. They are required to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose. Personal information may also be disclosed as follows:
- Records may be disclosed to affiliates or contractors hired by DASURECO to assist in carrying out operations, such as service, billing, and management functions including legal, audit, and collection services.
- Records may be disclosed to government regulators and other government agencies when authorized or required by law.
- Records may also be compiled in aggregate form for DASURECO management and staff activities.
- Records may be disclosed when required by law, such as in response to a search warrant, subpoena, or court order, or to law enforcement authorities.
- DASURECO may use and disclose records for investigations into employee misconduct or for law enforcement investigations related to our business.
- We may also access and/or disclose your personal information if we believe such action is necessary to: (a) protect and defend the rights or property of DASURECO (including the enforcement of our agreements); or (b) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of DASURECO services, members of the public or our employees.

You may view or edit your personal information by contacting a DASURECO member services representative at (082)272-7777 Local 123 or (082)272-7777 local 124. Arrangements will be made for you to view your information and make any necessary changes.
Data Subject Rights
DASURECO acknowledge and respects the privacy rights of data subjects. Individual have the following rights:
- Rights to be informed whether Personal Data pertaining to him/her shall be, are being, or have been processed;
- Right to Object to the Processing of his/her Personal Data;
- Right to Access to personal data;
- Right to Rectification dispute the inaccuracy or error in his/her Personal Data;
- Right to Erasure or Blocking, to suspend, withdraw, or order the blocking, removal, or destruction of his/her Personal Data from DASURECO’s Information and Communications System/s and/or Filing System/s;
- Right to Damages to be indemnified for any damages sustained due to such inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, unlawfully obtained, or unauthorized use of personal data;
- Right to Data Portability from DASURECO a copy of such Personal Data in an electronic or structured format that is commonly used and allows for further use by the Data Subject.; and
- Right to File a Complaint before the Commission for any data privacy violation committed by DASURECO, if any.
Security of Your Personal Information
DASURECO is committed to protect the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer systems with limited access, which are located in controlled facilities.
Changes to this Notice
This Privacy Notice was issued February 19, 2024 and will remain effective unless there is a revision, which will be effective immediately after being posted on this site. DASURECO will make every effort to announce to the public any changes made on this Notice.
