DASURECO SUCCESSFULLY HOLDS 43RD AGMA IN STA. MARIA, DAVAO OCCIDENTAL

DASURECO successfully held its 43rd Annual General Membership Assembly (AGMA) on July 27, 2025, at CECBA, Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental, with the theme: “Beyond Power: Electric Cooperatives, Empowering Communities, Changing Lives.”

A total of 10,274 Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs), representing 5.16% of the total membership, participated in the event from across Davao del Sur and Davao Occidental.
Host District Director Roberto P. Mariscal of Sta. Maria warmly welcomed all attendees and guests, setting a tone of unity and cooperation for the event. Echoing this spirit, Sta. Maria Mayor Claude Benjamin II “Dinko” D. Bautista delivered a message of support, emphasizing the value of collaboration and shared principles in public service.

“Samtang nagapadayon kita sa atong misyon nga maghatag og kasaligan, barato, ug malungtarong serbisyo sa kuryente, magpadayon unta kita sa pagtinabangay, giya sa mga prinsipyo sa panaghiusa, integridad, ug pagka-ekselente sa serbisyo,” he said.
(“As we continue our mission to provide reliable, affordable, and sustainable electric service, may we also continue working together, guided by the principles of unity, integrity, and excellence in service.”)

Local government officials from both provinces also extended their greetings and support via pre-recorded video messages.

A key highlight of the assembly was a special video message from NEA Administrator Antonio Mariano C. Almeda, who lauded DASURECO for its unwavering commitment to rural electrification. He recognized the cooperative’s efforts in enhancing organizational performance and engaging member-consumers, noting the positive impact of its leadership and workforce.

“Your accomplishments stand as a testament to what can be achieved through strong leadership and a responsive workforce,” Almeda said, emphasizing that DASURECO’s continued growth and stability inspire confidence in its ability to serve both the industry and its consumers.

Building on this message of inspiration, NEA Deputy Administrator for EC Management Services, Atty. Omar M. Mayo, who was present during the assembly, called on everyone to deepen their commitment not only to electrification but also to uplifting lives.

“Let us not stop in lighting homes. Let us light lives. ‘Wag tayong pumigil sa pagpapailaw ng mga bahay. Sa kabilang dako, tulongan natin ang DASURECO upang palaguin pa ang pag-asa ng ating mga kababayan, ang ating kapwa Pilipino,” he said.
(“Let us not stop in lighting homes. Let us light lives. Let us not hold back in bringing light to every home. On the other hand, let us help DASURECO in nurturing the hope of our fellow citizens, our fellow Filipinos.”)

Following the program, the business meeting commenced. Board Secretary and Hagonoy District Director Jeannette M. Sarno confirmed the number of attendees, and Board President and Sta. Cruz District Director Atty. Glenn F. Solana declared a quorum.

One of the key items on the agenda was the approval of the 2024 Annual Report, presented through a video presentation. The highlight of the meeting was the approval of an embedded renewable energy generator that will serve the municipalities of Don Marcelino and Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental—an initiative aimed at improving power reliability in the area.
With all scheduled matters addressed, the meeting was adjourned at 12:46 PM.

Afterward, the much-anticipated raffle draw commenced, bringing excitement to the crowd. The grand prize, a Mini Van, was awarded to Evangeline M. Remonde, an MCO from the Matanao District.

DASURECO extends its heartfelt gratitude to its valued partners, local officials, guests, and especially the Member-Consumer-Owners whose support contributed to the success of the 43rd AGMA.
