BLESSING AND ENERGIZATION OF THE NEW 20-MVA SUBSTATION
Blessing of the said substation by Fr. Ronald “Bong” Lunas
On August 8, 2018, the blessing of the additional 20-MVA substation in Sta. Cruz was officiated by Fr. Ronald “Bong” Lunas. The energization was also made on the same occasion which was graced by Atty. Romulus G. Tancontian– the Municipal Administrator, Brgy. Captain Paulito Huerbana, the DASURECO Board of Directors, Engr. Godofredo N. Guya– the General Manager, DASURECO management staff and other employees, MSEAC officers and members, and NCECCO member-consumer owners.

Sta. Cruz is known to be an industrialized and fast growing municipality in Davao del Sur. A lot of different plantations can be eyed herefrom namely: San Miguel Brewery, Señorita Farms Inc., Bioskin, two (2) Franklin Bakers, B-Meg, Coca-cola FEMSA, HEDCOR, Sea Oil, W.L Foods, Coco Davao, Primexynergies Food Corp, and just recently established is San Miguel Foods.
Engr. Paterno C. Castrodes, Head of the District 5-SEMA, MOM NGCP gives his message
These companies require large power load to maintain production to address fast-growing demand. This ignited the desire of DASURECO to put up another substation to support the increasing demand of this fast-progressing municipality. According to Engr. Paterno C. Castrodes, Head District 5-SEMA, MOM NGCP, that the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines in its maximum capacity will support DASURECO to ensure efficient transmission of energy power and aid immediately transmission interruptions.

DASURECO BOD President, Rodrigo B. Sacedor, shared that this course was taken to widen the rural electrification, which is in line with the mission of the President of the Philippines, which is to energize all the unserved areas and remove the hurdles standing in the way of total electrification of the country.
