DASURECO seizes top award for the 2nd time

Coop employ­ees in all smiles after the awarding DASURECO BODs with GM Guya receive the awards

The Davao del Sur Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive, Inc. (DASURECO) once again bagged the Hall of Fame for Mega Dia­mond Award dur­ing the con­cluded Lumens Awards of the National Elec­tri­fi­ca­tion Admin­is­tra­tion (NEA) on April 28, 2017 at The Big 8 Hotel in Tagum City.

Out of 121 elec­tric coop­er­a­tives (ECs) in the entire coun­try, only seven (7) ECs includ­ing DASURECO man­aged to receive the sec­ond high­est award – the Mega Dia­mond. The high­est level of recog­ni­tion which is the Ultra Dia­mond Award was received by Cebu III Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive, Inc. (CEBECO III).

In addi­tion, DASURECO was also rec­og­nized as a con­sis­tent holder of AAA rat­ing with spe­cial awards as on-​grid EC which reg­is­tered sin­gle digit sys­tem loss for the year and spe­cial cita­tion for EC best prac­tices on Coop­er­a­tive Social Respon­si­bil­ity (CSR) pro­grams related to life­line income aug­men­ta­tion and envi­ron­men­tal protection.

“I take pride in pre­sent­ing the awards for the elec­tric coop­er­a­tives that have shown tremen­dous excel­lence in the ser­vice of their MCOs (member-​consumer-​owners). I hope they will strive to sus­tain the gains they have made in the years to come,”Masong­song said.

The recip­i­ents of the awards are cho­sen based on its over­all per­for­mance assess­ment, track record over the last three years, level of con­sumer con­nec­tion, imple­men­ta­tion of the sitio elec­tri­fi­ca­tion pro­gram and best practices.

NCECCO Offi­cers and Board of Directors

Prior to the award­ing cer­e­mony is the con­duct of NEA-​EC Con­fer­ence on April 27 which presents NEA under the new admin­is­tra­tion and the effects of our Pres­i­dent Rody Duterte’s fed­er­al­ism to the elec­tric coop­er­a­tives. Dur­ing the con­fer­ence, schemes on han­dling con­cerns on audit­ing, power sup­ply con­tracts, employee salary upgrades and train­ings were made. The con­fer­ence ended with a dec­la­ra­tion of com­mit­ment to pro­mote sus­tain­able devel­op­ment in the rural areas.

NEA Chief Masong­song also intro­duced before the rep­re­sen­ta­tives of the elec­tric coop­er­a­tives the offi­cers and board of direc­tors of the National Cen­ter of Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive Con­sumers, Inc (NCECCO).

This annual gath­er­ing of elec­tric coop­er­a­tives serves as chan­nel for con­tin­u­ous shar­ing and plan­ning of ideas and solu­tions to address issues in the power industry.
