SAYES con­cludes the cel­e­bra­tion of NEAM

DASURECO cul­mi­nated the National Elec­tri­fi­ca­tion Aware­ness Month (NEAM) with the real­iza­tion of the Sci­ence, Arts and Youth Engi­neer­ing Sum­mit (SAYES) at Gaisano Mall Atrium, Barangay Tres de Mayo, Digos City on August 30, 2017.

Hun­dreds of high school and col­lege stu­dents from the entire area cov­er­age par­tic­i­pated the first-​ever sum­mit which aimed at pro­mot­ing and encour­ag­ing DASURECO’s member-​consumers and their school-children’s involve­ment to their local Elec­tric Cooperative’s affairs.

The first part of the event was a sym­po­sium on the Coop’s insti­tu­tional high­lights and best prac­tices and know-​how of the power sys­tem and elec­tric bill.

High­light­ing the sum­mit were the Design & Build a Power Sys­tem pro­to­type and Watts Out! – a 60-​second video mak­ing competition.

Awards were given to the fol­low­ing entries of the power sys­tem pro­to­type com­pe­ti­tion: Cham­pion – Mali­nao National High School of Arts and Trade; 1st Runner-​Up – Digos City National High School; and 2nd Runner-​Up – Hagonoy National High School.

For the 60-​second video mak­ing com­pe­ti­tion, the entry from Cor Jesu Col­lege titled Every Watts Count was hailed as the Cham­pion fol­lowed by the two entries titled as Pow­er­ing up your every­day andDASURECO, build­ing legacy for energy devel­op­ment from Digos City National High School.

Gamutin, CESO VI as the moti­va­tional speaker; rep­re­sen­ta­tive from the City Schools Divi­sion Office, Ms. Imelda T. Car­dines – the Edu­ca­tion Pro­gram Super­vi­sor; DASURECO Exec­u­tive Assis­tant, Ms. Joy T. Dalen rep­re­sent­ing GM Fred Guya; and the DASURECO staff and employees.


Cusi said the PEMC shall con­tinue to effec­tively gov­ern the oper­a­tions of WESM for the ben­e­fit of all elec­tric­ity stake­hold­ers. On the orga­ni­za­tional level, Cusi assures the PEMC employ­ees that the PEMC lead­er­ship shall con­tinue to improve and advance their wel­fare as WESM oper­a­tions con­tinue to evolve.

DASURECO is com­mit­ted in under­tak­ing its Cor­po­rate Social Respon­si­bil­ity (CSR) Pro­grams hence it shall pro­vide cash assis­tance to the school to cover expenses for the meals of more than 50 under­nour­ished and under­fed school chil­dren in Jolen­cio R. Alberca ES, Barangay Ruparan, Digos City.

DASURECO shall also pro­vide its food stor­age facil­ity and other light­ing mate­ri­als for its feed­ing center.

This has been one of its mis­sions to pro­vide value-​added ser­vices beyond elec­tric­ity needs to fur­ther improve the qual­ity of lives of its Member-​Consumer-​Owners (MCOs).
