This 2019, DASURECO enthusiastically joins the nation in the conduct of the 2nd Nationwide Tree Planting/Nurturing activity dubbed as “Golden Aim for Green” in celebration of the 10th National Electrification Awareness Month (NEAM).

As a culminating activity, DASURECO simultaneously accomplished the said activity in all of its area office coverage with the following partner-schools:

More than thousand participants coming from the Department of Education, the students, teachers, PTA officials, barangay officials, PENRO/MENRO, the community, and the DASURECO workforce planted at least two growing and fruit-bearing seedlings within the vicinity of the chosen secondary schools.

Turnover of the Material Recovery Facility in Pedro Mariscal NHS, Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental

In line with the EC’s commitment on environmental protection, a Launching of the EC-initiated “ReUse your RefUse” program was also done to intensify the proper segregation of waste and how those plastics we refuse can still be used.

Hence, DASURECO donated a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) to its chosen schools which will segregate the plastic bottles and soft plastics like candy wrappers, sando bags, grocery bags, used sacks, straws, food chain cups, pail, basin, plastic utensils, junk food wrappers, dressed chicken packaging and the like.

The plastics that DASURECO can gather will then be turned over to a waste recycling facility for the production of usable products like chairs, tables, garbage bins, floor tiles, and many others.

This way, DASURECO and its partner-schools through the Department of Energy and the Barangay Council, can work together on maximizing resources for a sustained community. ###
